It’s a big, broad question. Still, our Geezeo community was fairly vocal on one issue in particular:
Fuel/energy costs – this could affect the price of everything.
Sixty-six percent (66%) of the Geezeo community agreed. This issue is on everyone’s lips these days. Here are a few places our community is discussing the rising cost of fuel/energy:
Combat Investors (this group run by a deployed military serviceman)
Carless Crusaders
… and numerous related Money Confessions
How did the other issues fare in the survey?
15% said:
“Health insurance – it’s too expensive for everyone.”
10% insisted:
“Employment – keeping and expanding U.S. job opportunities isn’t a
priority.”
and finally, 8% kept the rally cry for:
“Housing crisis – massive loss of housing will negatively affect our
society.”
Wrote Geezeo user Taurean in a private email:
“Today’s economy is an adversity that will continue to happen until change is forced upon the masses. A bad change is only temporary. There are no heroes in flower patches. Heroes are made in hard times like when the light bill can’t be paid, when the country is made vunerable, when children go hungry. I am not sure that great change will come from this weakening of our economy but I am anxious to skip ahead 10 years from now and see where America stands in the aftermath. Until then, I will drive less, clip coupons, etc. Perhaps conservation will be the new wealth in 2018.”
“Perhaps conservation will be the new wealth in 2018.”. I like the sound of that. What do you think?
