Blog Round-up : Blunt Money
February 7th, 2009 by Amber Jones

Last October, we got to know a personal finance blogger a bit better.  Just in case you haven’t seen it, or if you would like to refresh your memory, check it out.  In her blog, she talks about a variety of topics that include student loans and credit cards.

Let’s see what she was talking about this week:

Monday she talks about a book she recently finished reading – The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America by Warren E. Buffett and Lawrence A. Cunningham.  See what she thought of it.

On Tuesday, she raises a good question.  It basically stems around moms who have careers, as well as take a leading role in being their childs “taxi”.  Could this possibly have a negative impact on their career because they are taking time off and therefore seem less reliable?  What do you think?  Read what she has to say, and tell us both your opinion.

Wednesday was focused around the definition of “sunk costs”.  What does that mean?  You’re more than welcome to look it up on Wikipedia, altho, she does share the basic definition from there.  However, to help you understand it a bit better, she also shares an explanation that made sense to her.

Decisions, decisions.  Thursday was full of them.  Blunt Money’s revolved around whether she should be pushing harder on one aspect of her business, sending money to her Roth, some other thing, or participating in a tax lien auction.  What was her choice?  Check it out.

How can you determine your priorities?  On Friday, Blunt Money talks about a conference that she went to.  She had to make a list of the ten most important things in their lives.  Then she was supposed to cross off a few of them at a time, and finally had to share three with another person.  How did she feel about this proces?  Could it be beneficial for you?  Read her thoughts on the idea.
